GET PARTY READY!

Let’s Celebrate! To Prepare for all the cocktail hours, soirees, and get-togethers, here are the best hair tips – no matter how much (or little) time you have.

1. ADD VOLUME

“Grab your dry texture spray or dry shampoo and give your roots a good going-over before massaging in; it’s a no-brainer,” says celebrity hairstylist, Anthony Nader.

“Where you want extra volume, give the root area a tease by backcombing with your flat paddle brush. Gently push down on the root area with your bristles, then smooth over the top surface to hide the backcombing. Then you’re ready to go!”

2. ADDING SHINE

“Adding extra shine can be tricky, especially if your hair strands are on the finer side, or even oily,” warns Nader. He has two tips he swears by:

COOL DRY

“Set your hair dryer on the coldest temperature you have, with your narrow nozzle attached, and smooth over your hair with a large round brush of boar bristles. The combo of cool air flowing down the hair strands and the bristles will help redirect dull strands, close the cuticle, and impart more sheen.”

STEER CLEAR OF YOUR ROOTS

“Apply a lightweight spray serum or oil on the mid-lengths and ends only,” says Nader. “If you’re in doubt, spray lightly into your palms and then apply through your hair. It gives more control on where you want the extra shine.”

3. ADD A BEND

SECTION FOR SPEED

“You may think sectioning seems like a waste of time, but you’re making your hair styling much easier and more organised when you do,” says Nader. He advises taking three sections from ear to ear, clipping them, and then curling in small sections, starting from the bottom.

CHOOSE YOUR TOOL

“Use a wide flat iron for a soft bend or wave, or an orginal size flat iron for tighter waves.”

MIND FRONT SECTIONS

“Wind your sections away from your face to create a beautiful shape,” says Nader.
