We get that the humidity is not your friend & neither is rain. We get that you’d rather be conquering the world than conquering your frizz. We welcome the first Australian brand to introduce the benefits of raw natural keratin protein technology. Most importantly this bhave hair straightening treatment is free from all parabens, sulphates & sodium chloride.

It’s a hair fact – sleek, smooth-looking locks look ultra-polished, not to mention healthy. Achieving those smooth, lustrous locks with serums, gels, conditioning treatments and straighteners can be high maintenance and time intensive and then there’s product build up and hair fry to consider.

If you are time-poor but lust after smooth, luscious-looking locks that are low on maintenance but high on manageability, we have the solution for streamlining your beauty routine as well as your look.

Smoothe is NOT a straightening treatment and, unlike other straightening services, does not restructure the hair. As a result, hair looks more natural with enhanced body, movement and manageability. smoothe will noticeably improve hair health and provide long-term conditioning, protection and lustrous shine.

Frequently asked questions
Q Is bhave smoothe keratin therapy right for me?
A bhave smoothe keratin therapy makes hair easy to manage, so anyone who struggles with frizz or has curly and difficult to manage hair is a good candidate.

Q What makes bhave different to other products on the market?
A bhave is a true keratin taming system that does NOT break down, change or build internal bonds in the hair. It cannot be washed out immediately as the keratin requires time to set into the hair.

bhave is formulated with an innovative amino cell rebuild technology that has been specially formulated to penetrate the hair providing health, protection and long-term conditioning. bhave contains argan oil, collagen and silk amino acids to smooth away frizz while adding luminous shine.

Q What kind of results will I get from the bhave smoothe keratin therapy?
A A reduction in frizz, hair will be more manageable and easy to style. You will still be able to wear your hair curly or wavy (depending on your hair type) and enjoy the freedom to blow-dry your hair into any style you want in a fraction of the time.

Q Can I still receive the bhave smoothe keratin therapy if I have highlights and/or colour?
A Yes you can. However, we do advise for best results to have your hair coloured 7-10 days after the smoothing therapy. If you do colour your hair before the treatment, the colour may lift to varying degrees, requiring colour to be re-applied.

Q Yes the bhave smoothe keratin therapy work on virgin hair?
A Yes. on virgin hair, reults will improve with each application. you may have to repeat the treatment after 4 weeks, but each application will last longer.

Q Is the bhave smoothe keratin therapy going to make my hair straight?
A All hair types differ. the treatment is designed to make the hair easier and quicker to manage. Some people may be able to ‘wash & go’ whereas others will have to add some heat to their hair in order to get a straighter result.

You may want to ask your hairdresser to perform a strand test before proceeding with the treatment to get a realistic idea of what your result will be.

Q How long does the bhave smoothe keratin therapy last?
A The bhave smoothe keratin therapy lasts up to 5 months depending on the hair type and maintenance. As mentioned, some virgin hair may require an application after 4 weeks.

Q Is the bhave smoothe keratin therapy permanent?
A No, the hair will revert back to its natural state after 2-5 months.

Q Can I apply the bhave smoothe keratin therapy directly on top of other relaxers?
A Yes you can. We recommend that you wait a month after relaxing your hair before having the bhave smoothe keratin therapy.

Q Can I cut my hair before or after the treatment?
A We recommend that you cut your hair after the bhave therapy as it will fall differently and appear longer.

Q Can I use styling products?

Now the mornings are starting to get Legitimately Chilly, troche the cashmere scarves and woolly coats are coming out of hibernation. We’re also swapping our lightweight skin serums and lotions for heavy-duty moisturisers, ailment and we’re ditching our good pal salad in favour of hearty soup.

But what about our poor hair? Save for the occasional novelty beanie, cialis our poor locks rarely get to rug up and take shelter from the elements.

During winter, the air lacks humidity and oxygen. Pair this with cold wind, air conditioning and blow-drying, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for some seriously stressed strands (think the opposite of Miranda Kerr’s majorly glossy, healthy mane).

Luckily nourished, hydrated and beautiful hair is possible all year ‘round. We spoke to Anthony Nader, international hairstylist and owner of RAW salon, who shared his top tips for keeping your crowning glory as…er…glorious as possible this winter.

  • You need to swap your shampoo and conditioner in winter, just like you switch up your skincare to prevent your mug from getting dry and chapped. “Seasons change and so does your hair texture, so you need to be on top of it,” says Anthony. “Look out for moisturising key ingredients which sound good enough to eat, like shea butter, Argan oil, coconut oil and avocado to name a few.” Try Muk Spa Argan Oil Repair Shampoo and Conditioner, $26.95 each.

  • You hair might not be copping as much sun damage in winter as it does in summer, but daily heat styling with your hairdryer, straightener and curling iron is super harsh on your hair, so you need to invest in a good quality heat protector spray. “Everyone needs to use a heat protector spray when using any hot appliances,” says Anthony. “It shields your precious strands and protects hair from the elements, including UV rays. Just spray a few pumps onto damp hair [it doesn’t absorb as well on dry hair] and then you can use other styling product and dry as usual.”
  • Cut down on heat styling in winter by skipping one or two blow-dries a week. To make this process easier, just use a smoothing treatment once a week – this will help keep your mane tame for longer and you’ll find yourself reaching for the hairdryer less and less. Try TRESemmé 7 Day Keratin Smooth Heat Activated Treatment, $10.99, from Priceline.

  • Static, frizz and flyaways can often flare up in winter (thanks, polyester jumpers!), and while anti-frizz products and oils can work like a charm, there are some alternative options if you don’t have the more traditional products on hand. “I’ve always been a fan of a shine spray as I find this lighter than an oil and I always apply this damp hair as it absorbs better into the scalp and hair than on dry hair and doesn’t leave the your strands looking and feeling oily,” says Anthony. “Another trick I have to control flyaways is getting an old blush brush [as big as possible] and giving the ends a once-over with a light mist of hairspray, and then glide the bristles over the trouble spot. This technique will make for better hair days and is so easy to do.”
  • You might have made it through spring and summer without nary a flake to be seen – but come winter, your scalp is more prone to developing dandruff and other scalp conditions “I’ve found that the ladies with long hair especially tend to notice scalp conditions more so in winter, as the scalp can’t breathe as well compared to the warmer months,” says Anthony. “The hair and skin needs water daily, and without this simple measure you may notice a scaly scalp.” Try Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy Complete Care Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, $5.99, from supermarkets.

  • A once-a-week hair masque is de riguer all year ‘round, but it becomes even more important in winter when your scalp and strands are in need of extra nourishment. Anthony advises making it part of a weekend beauty ritual: “Dedicate at least an hour to yourself and pop on a hair masque and give yourself a mani at the same time. Before you know it, not only will you be relaxed, but your hair and nails will look mighty fine too.”
