HOT SUMMER HAIR SERUMS

HOT SUMMER HAIR SERUMS

You know the poor innocent serum does still get a bad rap doesn’t it!
But if you use it properly your hair strands won’t look oily or dirty which,
we know can happen at some time when hair styling.
We’re big fans of using a serum and our clients are too but why?
Here’s our top do’s & dont’s for when your using this liquid gem in a
bottle.

DO’S
* Always apply your serum on damp hair strands and then blow dry in.
By doing this the serum and the other styling products you’re layering the
hair with, will absorb far better than on dry hair.
The serum in this case will never make your strands appear oily nor dirty
and will dry…………….which is key.

* Squeeze a few drops into your palms and then lightly work them through
your mid lengths and ends then finally the root area ‘if’ needed.
If you feel you need a few drops more because of the density of your hair,
then squeeze a few more drops and re apply.
But always think twice here before you take the plunge.

* For unruly course/curly/frizzy hair strands, a serum will be your always
be your bestie for the Summer months ahead.
Blow drying on damp hair with your serum applied will always give an end
result of mega high voltage shine factor.

DON’TS
* Never apply directly onto the root area as this will be the sure sign your
just got caught in a rain down pour.

* Be mindful when investing in a serum that you can test it before, so you’re
not wasting your hard-earned bucks.
Keep in mind that the heavier the oil, the oilier it may appear which will
also weigh down your hair strands quicker.

* For those of you with finer strands just keep in mind to go easy when
applying your serum and don’t be heavy handed.
Remember less is more.

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Years RAW fans and also the biggest thank

WHO LET THE WIG OUT OF THE BAG?

WHO LET THE WIG OUT OF THE BAG?

We have to confess it was us and guilty as charged but, we bet you couldn’t have guessed that our model featured is sporting one, did you?

It’s good right?

In this month’s VOGUE campaign, we wanted to voice that its totally a-ok to slip on a wig if your heart desires.

Be it a night out, a formal occasion, drinks with the girls, or as simple as going to the mall there’s really a “no access area” at the end of the day so this is your time to explore the beauty world of wigs.

The reason why we popped this #LaceWig on our beautiful international model is that, Mili has fine long dark hair and we wanted to change her look completely.

Check out her website if you don’t believe us.  https://www.imgmodels.com/mili/london/development/portfolio

We may note that before the shoot date one week before this #HumanHairWig was 100% brown and long, so we gave the unit (another name for wig) a honey blonde balayage colour application and razored it to precision, gave the mid lengths a twirl with a #GHD flat iron so the end result had a RAW undone cool vibe to it.

Wigs can look absolutely natural which when done right………. looks beautiful.

Our main aim with this month’s campaign is purely to say and show you that you shouldn’t be afraid to try a wig.

If celebrities and models are sporting these on red carpets, tv interviews, and fashion events well why can’t we?

You may not notice to the untrained eye but, do you think Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift, Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, Heidi Klum and the list goes on and on about how these stars have needed that extra longer length because they may have a sharp jawline bob existing? Or maybe adding a little extra thickness on the sides above the ears for volume?

Or dare I say adding a fun fringe piece to change your look up for the night?

Have we opened your eyes wide open yet with the secrets on how celebrities and models trick us?

We’re going to finish off by saying that when you go to the wig shop make sure you do/ask the below pointers and enjoy the new you in the making.

  1. Go to a reputable wig shop (ask your hairstylist here).
  2. Purchase a human lace/front wig (they have a invisible hairline and blends beautifully with your own hairline) and not a regular old fashioned one which will only make you look clown like which defeats the whole message).
  3. Gel or tape adhesive to secure wig around the hairline.
  4. Ask your hairstylist very sweetly if they could tailor your new trademark with a haircut and maybe a hair colour if needed.
  5. While you’re at it and bonding away with your hairstylist ask them to give you a lesson on the do’s and don’ts in caring for it.

Have a great month RAW fans and feel free to ask us any questions about the new you in the making.

From the ‘It colour’ to the ONE style you need to avoid

As we move towards the new season, many women will be considering changing their look.

More often than not, this means a new haircut or colour – which can be tricky to decide on.

If you’re in the market for a refresh, leading celebrity hairdresser, Anthony Nader, has shared what is in and out for the new season.

From the ‘It colour’ to the latest cut, here FEMAIL takes a look at what you need to be trying and avoiding.

IN – BANGS

According to Anthony, if you’ve been deliberating about getting some sort of fringe, now is the time to take the plunge.

‘Stars including Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Emma Watson have revived the trend for bangs, showing us that they can be super cute and just a little bit sexy,’ he told FEMAIL.

‘More and more of my clients are asking for bangs and I’m all for giving them a new look they might love.’

The hairdresser – who has looked after the likes of Cate Blanchett’s locks – added that bangs can ‘suit everyone’.

‘It just depends on how boldly you want to showcase them,’ he added.

OUT – ANYTHING VOLUMINOUS

While the celebrities of yesteryear were all about big, voluminous hair, Anthony revealed this is something you’ll want to stay away from this season:

‘Any hairstyle that looks artificially too voluminous and Sixties is on the way out,’ he explained.

‘Your hairstyle can’t and shouldn’t look stiff.’

IN – JAWLINE BOBS

Again, you can thank the likes of Taylor Swift for the resurgence of the jawline bob, which Anthony said is firmly in vogue.

‘The shorter, the better right now – this new length showcases confidence and power,’ he said.

The hairdresser added that while you might not think it, this style is actually easy to look after.

OUT – BED HAIR

‘The slept on bed hair look is firmly on the way out,’ Anthony said.

Instead, a more polished blow dry is what the majority of his clients are asking for, with bespoke products tailored towards their specific hair needs.]

IN – COLD BREW COFFEE COLOUR

So far this year we’ve already had rose gold hair and rose brown hair. But now, there is a new hue set to knock these off their perch.

Cold brew hair is the latest trend to know – it’s a stunning coffee brown hue with hints of warm copper, as if you’ve swirled a spoon around a freshly-brewed cup of coffee.

‘If you are already brunette, this is a great shade to try,’ Anthony explained. ‘Just ask your hairdresser for the cold brew look and expect swirls of browns, deep caramels and a touch of mahogany.’

Exemplars of the trend include Pia Miller, whose tresses are already the envy of women the country over.

IN – BLONDE LIGHTENING

Colour-wise, Anthony also said that flashes of ‘bold lightness framing your face’ will also be big this season.

‘Think balayage, but bolder and more block-y in colour, so that you see thick ribbons of blonde highlighting.’

Again, the stylist said this colour works with many people – but make sure you get a tone that fits well with your complexion.

GOING NOWHERE – BALAYAGE

Last but not least, Anthony said that if you’re worried that your balayage colour dating, then fear not.

The It colour is going nowhere.

‘Australia is all about this French colouring technique,’ he said. ‘And we continue to be in love with the look.’

The hairdresser said if you’re looking to get beautifully executed balayage, then it ‘should look natural and sunkissed, rather than a Cadbury’s Top Deck chocolate bar’.

‘I don’t think balayage will ever be knocked off its perch as it perennially looks stylish,’ Anthony concluded.

HOW TO CREATE THAT ROYAL NO-FUSS BUN as seen by Anthony VOGUE

Meghan Markle has officially committed to the no-fuss updo as her go-to royal look, so we found how to create the hairstyle of 2018.

While Meghan Markle is learning the ropes when it comes to perfecting royal outings, we’ve noticed one trend has emerged–each time Markle has stepped out hand-in-hand with fiancé Prince Harry, she’s opted for a chic bun, complete with a few strands left out in a fuss-free way. It has quickly become her signature look and so we quizzed Anthony Nader of Sydney’s Raw Anthony Nader salon, to learn his insider tips for recreating it at home.

This style is best suited to dirty hair, so the good news is you don’t have to start with an ambitious washing and drying regime. “If your strands are too clean and soft at the moment, give them a quick once over with a dry shampoo or dry texture spray like Muk’s dry shampoo over the root area and massage the product through,” says Nader. It’s that nice, one-day-old, lived-in hair you’re after.

Then, lightly brush the product through with a Mason Pearson brush: “This will distribute nice and evenly from mid-lengths to ends,” he says.

To create the bun, tilt your head back and scrape your hair from the hairline back to the nape area, securing it just below your crown area. Tie this up into a twisted knot and secure with your bobby pins.

“The most important aspect of this new trend is the shorter pieces framing the face, as this gives you the modern, current edge that is required for this look,” Nader adds. “If your hair is one length, it won’t do you any favours – as you need shorter pieces to soften the look of what we’re trying to achieve.”

He also reminds us to make like Meghan and refrain from over-smoothing the hair, instead keep it textured, piecey and just a little bit dishevelled, for that royal-approved look.
