When it comes to hair products, like make-up, often women have a little more than they know what to do with.
What I really wanted, was for someone to tell me once and for all what was worth investing in, so that I could have the best versions of the things I ACTUALLY need – and I know they’d last.
So I thought I’d hit up Anthony Nader, owner of RAW Salon in Surry Hills for answers. Hairdresser to the stars, Anthony has tended to the hair of celebs such as Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman, and Lily Cole. He’s even got his hands on Gisele Bundchen’s famous locks. Basically, he’s the authority when it comes to hair.
I asked him to pick three hair products he would never, ever stop using – and though it was like choosing a favourite child; he managed to do it for me.
You, my friends, are welcome. Anthony, take over…
“Ok I’ll be the first to put my hand up and say ‘they’re not cheap but these fine Japanese crafted art pieces are designed by hairdressers and for hairdressers. They are always part of my day-to-day either in the salon tending to my clients, to being on a fashion photo shoot in a studio because I need the models hair to look shiny and healthy for the glam photo finish. These brushes will last forever. Trust me on this one.”
“I never thought there would ever be a smart invention like a 6-in-1 barrel tong kind-of-thing. Six different interchangeable size barrels for whatever curl or wave size you desire, achievable within seconds of changing. “I can choose what hair shape I want to achieve and then clip on the barrel and I’m set to go. This set gives me the vast choices I need to confidently achieve the results my clients want to have them feeling and looking fantastic.”
“My arms get tired from holding a regular hairdryer all day long and I’m not really interested in entering a muscle building competition either! This ceramic lightweight dryer gives me all the power I need to straighten out the curliest of hair strands for a smooth finish that is of course salon-worthy – because it’s an industry favourite amongst us!”
